WLUK has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Video Editor. This is the perfect entry level position for a career in visual journalism. You will work with a team of journalists. Your role focuses on editing video news elements for our digital and broadcast platforms. The position includes weekend evenings. This position is a stepping stone in our organization, with opportunities for advancement. The job is tailored to current students studying for a career in journalism, and/or digital media.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Editing video for weekend news coverage
  • Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
  • Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
  • Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous training in non-linear editing and digital media is preferred
  • Knowledge of Avid NewsCutter XP editing technology is a definite plus
  • Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
