Job description

We’re currently the biggest whiskey channel on YouTube (Whiskey Tribe), and our team is seeking a passionate and highly detail-oriented VIDEO EDITOR to mold entertaining and informative content for our whisk(e)y loving fans. This is a full time, in-person position.

You don’t have to love whiskey for this job , but it helps – and there are cool perks if you do.

Are you the right person? Let’s find out.

  • Do your edits elevate every moment on the screen?
  • Are you organized and proactive?
  • Are you an excellent communicator?
  • Can you take the lead and consistently hit deadlines?
  • Do you follow through without a manager breathing down your neck?
  • Do you want a creative outlet for those ridiculous ideas that make you and your friends laugh?

Our work environment includes:

  • Relaxed atmosphere
  • Casual work attire
  • Lively conversations
  • A love of high quality flavors and top shelf shenanigans

Be prepared to work with us in our South Austin studio 5 days a week (9:00am – 5:00pm Monday thru Friday).

You’ll work directly with our YouTube content team to organize, arrange, and edit ideas into completed YOUTUBE videos. We like to have fun and often get silly, but we’re serious when it comes to getting results and providing great experiences for our fans and guests on our 20 acre property.

Unfortunately, it’s rare for people to actually read a job description before sending a resume. But if you’re seeing this paragraph, it means you’re thorough and pay attention to details. Thank you! Here’s a tip: Use the words “HANDS” anywhere in your cover letter or resume so we can find it with a word-search. We’ll prioritize your resume by reading it with the same focus you gave this job description. A demo reel of your work is REQUIRED in order to be considered for this position.

THE SKILLS we need in order of priority:

1) Editing:

  • Our editors are using FCP, but if you’re on another software, it’s not a deal breaker.
  • We try to make our cuts tight. Energetic. Funny. Creamy?

2) Detail-oriented:

  • You see this on every job post, but we mean it. This position takes a certain type of person to notice a small detail within a single frame.

3) Organization:

  • There will be a constant flow of footage to rummage through. It will be up to you to maintain and organize content.

4) After Effects Animation / FX:

  • We don’t do much AE work, but if you’re familiar with AE you get bonus points that will open more opportunities for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished videos that compliment education, storytelling and comedy.
  • Implement detailed post processing editing. (Color grading, audio mixing, sound design, title and font work)
  • Manage and organize media files in proper folders, while understanding backup hardware and procedures.

We look forward to meeting you.
