Job Description:
Muddy Shutter Media is seeking a talented and passionate Content Creator / Video Editor to join our team. This role requires a creative individual who is deeply engaged with social media and has a knack for producing compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences. The position is based in our Cleveland, OH headquarters but offers flexibility with our satellite office locations.

Key Responsibilities:
● Meet with clients to establish the desired feel and look for the video to be created
● Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure each was updated in the correct format
● Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects
● Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video’s creation
● Improve video and sound quality using various video software
● Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project
● Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to client’s specifications
● Develop and manage multimedia content, including writing, selecting photos, and editing videos for various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn,
Threads).

● Specialize in creating and executing video-based stories, particularly for platforms like
Instagram and TikTok.

● Coordinate with the account services and marketing team to create scheduled posts alongside the social team, considering current trends, seasonality, and cultural happenings.

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is strongly preferred.
● Minimum of two years of editing experience in social media content creation, preferably for editorial or lifestyle brands, with a focus on e-commerce and Direct-to-Consumer strategies. Commercial editing experience a must.

● Proven track record in an editorial environment with strong writing skills, excellent news judgment, and a keen awareness of current events.

● Demonstrated ability in designing effective social media posts that engage and resonate with the target audience.

● Familiarity with Muddy Shutter Media and its client portfolio.
● Mastery of Google Suite and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
● Mastery of Post-Production tools such as Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci
● Knowledge of industry standard formats and file types for social media.
● Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Reporting Structure:
Collaborate closely with marketing staff and department heads in Production & Post-Production.
Report directly to the Director / Head of Production.

Pay: $40,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
