In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of legal matters related to development and production agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and Negotiating Agreements: You will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, and drafting various development and production agreements, including option and rights acquisition agreements, writer, producer, director, and actor agreements, as well as distribution and finance agreements.
• Legal Guidance: As the Senior Counsel, you will serve as the go-to person for legal advice on a wide range of legal areas. You will analyze and interpret contracts and provide thoughtful legal guidance to internal groups and production personnel on films, including union and guild matters, clearances, credits, and insurance requirements.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with various internal groups and production personnel on a day-to-day basis to address and resolve legal issues in a timely manner. Your expertise in legal matters will be essential in ensuring compliance and making informed decisions.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• JD degree and active bar membership in California.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing law in the entertainment industry, specifically in film production and development.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for complex agreements.
• Strong understanding of union and guild matters, clearances, credits, and insurance requirements in the entertainment industry.
• Ability to analyze and interpret legal contracts and provide actionable advice.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with internal teams and external stakeholders.
