MILK STUDIOS is looking for qualified new team members to join our studio and locations equipment department.

The position not only provides the opportunity to facilitate the needs of our clients and prep/wrap the our six stages at our studio location but also work in our locations department, building and receiving equipment orders that work all around Los Angeles and beyond.

The open position is on our closing shift or “night crew”, a position that everyone in the equipment department has worked for at least one year prior to being promoted. The night crew is one of the most integral components of the equipment team in that they are required to prep/wrap all of the studios and locations orders for the following day to make sure things run smoothly the following morning.

While the position isn’t easy and definitely requires hard work and long hours, it gives the candidate the unique opportunity to get their hands on a lot of the most cutting edge grip and lighting equipment but also to work building the equipment orders for some of the most highly respected and successful artists in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • knowledge of strobe systems, namely, Profoto and Broncolor
  • mastery of the basic grip arsenal i.e. c-stands, rollers, cardellinis, etc.
  • ability to properly differentiate continuous light systems such as tungsten, HMI and LED
  • experience driving cargo vans, sprinters or box trucks (or willingness to learn)
  • customer service, proficiency in drafting and responding to emails with proper grammar and punctuation
  • self-starter and quick learner
  • rental house experience (not required but a plus)

JOB DUTIES

  • flipping studios – wrapping and staging jobs in our six studios
  • facilitating client additions in studio via our equipment room
  • cleaning, inventorying and testing equipment
  • organizing our equipment in our multiple facilities
  • prepping location orders for pick up and receiving location returns from clients
  • cleaning, testing and inventorying equipment before sending out and upon return
  • packing trucks and unloading trucks with equipment orders
  • delivering and picking up equipment orders
  • picking up and returning sub rentals

HOURS & SCHEDULE

The closing shift begins at 3PM and runs until at least midnight. There is often overtime required due to the high volume or orders in our busier seasons.

The position is full time, five consecutive days a week. There is a potential to work weekends as we are open seven days a week, however, you will have a set schedule and be given ample warning when it is changed.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
