Dance Competition Camera Operator / Videographer Gig (3 Days: Jan 25-27th)

We are looking for a camera operator for a dance competition at the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, from Jan 24th – 26th. Cameras and gears are not required as all the gears are provided. Ideally, we are looking for a camera operator/videographer who appreciates the art of dance, especially ballet or contemporary dance.

The gig requires the cam op to use a follow-cam for dance performances. The filming is inside a theater. Some performances will be live-streamed, but streaming experience is not required.

Important: Dance competitions are long full-day events. The hours are not finalized as of the time of this posting. We anticipate about 12 hours per day, so stamina and ability to work the production schedule is a must for this gig.

Hours*:

Thursday, Jan 24th: 9:05 am – 9:05pm

Friday, Jan 25th: 8:30am – 9:20pm

Saturday, Jan 26th: 8:30am – 9:40pm

*Lunch is provided and there will be breaks and intermissions.

Compensation: $1000 for the gig

Payment will be made via Zelle or Venmo on the last day of the event. The completion of a W9 form is required.

Qualifications

· Experience operating a video camera

· Knowledgeable in Canon line cameras preferred

· Experience shooting live performances; experience or interest in dance is a plus

· Degree in film production, videography, video production, or similar preferred

Responsibilities

• Capturing dance performances at ballet competition
• Professional demeanor in front of clients and audience while on the shoot

Other requirements:

• Communications: Candidates must have WhatsApp installed (at least during the gig) because the team uses WhatsApp to communicate during the event.
• Must be physically able to handle long hours. There will be intermissions and breaks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
