Stage Actor: Coachella Valley Tour of Maggie Magalita

Green Room Theatre Company Coachella Valley (GRTCCV) seeks stage actors for its Spring 2024 Touring Production of Maggie Magalita.

GRTC is a professionally oriented, 501(C)3 non profit theatre company in its fifteenth successful season, serving culturally and economically diverse communities of the Coachella Valley from Palm Desert to Desert Hot Springs, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella, Mecca, and Thermal.

Project: The project is a mobile touring production of Maggie Magalita, using a small mobile stage that will involve a load-in and strike for each weekend of performances.

Duration: Your commitment is a minimum term of three months (part-time) between January 2024 and March 2024. Rehersals are set to start the week following auditions.

Compensation: You’ll be compensated as an Independent Contractor with contracts starting at $2,000.

Roles Available:
Maggie: 17 (age range of actress, 16 – mid-twenties). Hispanic. Smart, lively, and a successful student; desperate to be accepted as American.

Elena: 30s (age range of actress, late-twenties – forties). Maggie’s mom. Hispanic. A working mom and peacemaker.

La Abuela: 60s or older (age range of actress, fifties and up). Maggie’s grandmother. Hispanic. Loving, funny, and stubborn. Plays a mean game of dominos.

Eric: 17 (age range of actor, 16 – mid-twenties). Maggie’s friend. A well-mannered, Caucasian or African American.

Additional Information:

Auditions will be held Friday, January 12th from 4PM to 9PM and Saturday, January 13th from 1PM to 5:30PM. Callbacks are Sunday, January 14th.

Location for both: Green Room Theatre Company office in Coachella City Hall, 1515 6th Street in downtown Coachella. Interested actors must sign up for a 10-minute audition appointment and prepare a 1 to 2 minute comedic monologue. Please arrive ten minutes before your appointment to review the production calendar and provisional contract.

Expected hours: 2 – 10 per week
