Video Editor and Animator – Adobe Premiere/After Effects (Contract)

What we do

Our state-of-the-art safety programs include training courses for pilot car operators, wind industry transport teams, flaggers, Traffic Control Supervisors, forklift operators, and defensive driving. Although headquartered in the Pacific Northwest we provide learning opportunities across the country. Several of our programs have been nationally recognized and utilized across the U.S. and Canada. Our hybrid team currently includes employees across Washington State.

How you will contribute

We are seeking a video editor and animator to assist in the production of content to be used in our online and in-person classes. Some content is also posted on our YouTube channel. Our videos illustrate key concepts in roadway safety for pilot car drivers, flaggers, and commercial drivers. Vehicles, transport equipment, and human figures feature heavily in our videos. Please note, this is a 1099 contract position.

The contractor will report to the Senior Curriculum Development Manager. Estimated workload is between 5 and 20 hours a week depending on project lifecycles. The contractor is responsible for tracking their hours and billing Evergreen Safety Council for itemized work on a monthly basis.

Video Editor and Animator duties

• Collaborate with the Senior Curriculum Development Manager to craft the right look and feel for all new videos, consistent with Evergreen Safety Council’s brand and pre-existing videos
• Animate Illustrator assets and text to create new videos using Premiere and After Effects, according to pre-planned scripts
• Edit stock and original video footage to create short videos to accompany pre-recorded voice overs
• Update existing videos in Adobe Premiere
• Perform file transfer and management using Google Drive

Who you are

• You are an Adobe Premiere and After Effects superstar and you keep up with the latest features
• You have experience animating both technical equipment/concepts and human figures in After Effects
• You have a knack for understanding others’ visions and can translate that into engaging and inspiring videos
• You are an amazing communicator with impeccable organizational skills
• You are available for small and medium-sized video tasks on a regular (weekly or every-other-week) basis
• You follow directions well and ask for clarification when needed
• You are comfortable with a remote work environment where communication will happen mainly over text messaging and Zoom

Experience and skills you bring

• Demonstrated excellence in video and animation using Adobe products, including the ability to animate technical concepts/equipment and human figures
• Experience working in a collaborative environment with a partner or team
• Comfort with remote file management and transfer
