You’ll be the face of Alcatraz Escape Games Tempe and responsible for our guests’ experiences, as well as the upkeep and maintenance

Welcome guests, get them excited to play their chosen game and teach them how escape rooms work, promote the business by attempting to sell merch and book them for another game, and ensure all our games our set and ready for players to have a premium experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Create a fun and welcoming environment for our guests, spending time getting to know them to deliver a premium game experience

• Perform room introductions and rules/safety explanations, moderating the game by paying close attention to the players and delivering the right clue when asked

• Resetting rooms in between games to keep the flow of the business and experience going

• Walking guests out of their experience while inviting them to play our other rooms, ideally rebooking them before they leave, and getting them to leave a review for their game
• Moderators also perform roles acting as characters in the rooms, currently our moderators will be expected to perform as a zombie loose in rooms with players, and a prison inmate helping players escape

• Maintain the quality and cleanliness of the venue, including cleaning bathrooms, monthly or weekly deep cleans of the rooms and facility areas

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older to apply

• You are able to work on your feet for long periods of time and lift and carry up to 20 pounds

• Night, weekend and holiday availability, willing to work with an on-call schedule.

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Leadership skills, able to take charge and enforce safety rules in the moment to prevent guests injuring themselves or damaging our rooms

• Sales, comfortable with asking for the sale of merchandise and cross-promotions

The ideal candidate:

• 1 year of experience in hospitality, sales, or service industry

• Comfortable with working with an environment where alcohol will be consumed, our lobby is BYOB and shared with our axe throwing venue

• Is familiar with and has played multiple escape rooms, if not already worked in one

Pay: From $14.35 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
