West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint a Video Editor for its Regional Imaging Unit. Based at Calder Park, Wakefield, the role will assist in providing a video editing service to Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing area of the Police RSSS – dealing with over 2000 video editing projects a year for the Yorkshire and Humber region. As part of a small friendly team of Editors, you will have your own editing workstation.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience of producing video edits in a professional/academic video editing environment. You must also have a detailed knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including the ability to switch between a variety of video editing software packages. The ability to listen to and view video footage, which can be graphic and disturbing, is a also requirement, as is the ability to assess written transcripts and edit logs. The source of this footage will be from Police Body Worn Video cameras, Police in-car cameras, and Video recorded witness interviews.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be prepared to provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination databases for routine speculative searching purposes.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, with no weekend or Bank Holiday working, allowing for a 37-hour week flexible arrangement – between the hours of 7.00 am and 7.00 pm. You must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the Video Editing team.
