JOB TITLE: PART-TIME VIDEO EDITOR

Location: Brampton, Ontario – Remote with Weekly In-Person Meeting

Position Type: Starting Part-Time Contract (20 hours/week) with potential for Full-Time

Pay: $22/hr Starting

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a talented and dedicated Part-Time Video Editor to join our team, which is a vital role in our exciting journey.

Responsibilities:

Collaboration with Creative Team:
– Work closely with the creative team to understand project goals, objectives, and creative vision.

File Organization and Management:
– Maintain a well-organized file structure for projects, ensuring easy accessibility for the team.
– Archive and backup projects regularly to prevent data loss.

Efficient Workflow Development:
– Streamline and optimize the video editing workflow to enhance productivity.
– Implement best practices for project organization and time management.

Feedback Incorporation:
– Incorporate feedback from team members and clients into edits, ensuring a collaborative and iterative editing process.

Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
– Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in video editing and post-production.
– Implement innovative techniques to keep the content visually engaging and contemporary.

Quality Control:
– Conduct thorough quality checks on edited content to ensure it meets the company’s standards and client expectations.
– Address and rectify any issues or discrepancies promptly.
– Send all drafts to directors for approval

Training and Development:
– Stay updated on new features and tools within Adobe Suite and other relevant software.
– Provide guidance and training to junior editors or interns when applicable.

Adaptability to Various Styles:
– Edit content in various styles to suit the diverse range of projects handled by the company.

Multitasking and Deadline Management:
– Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
– Communicate effectively about project timelines and potential challenges.

Social Media Content Editing:
– Edit short-form content for social media platforms, considering the unique requirements of each platform.

Requirements:

• Proficient in Adobe Suite, with expertise in Premiere and After Effects.
• Understanding for Sound Design.
• Experience working with LOG Footage, mainly V-Log (Panasonic) and C-Log (Canon).
• Powerful computer setup capable of handling up-to 6K ProRes RAW Footage.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Passion for filmmaking and a solid understanding of the pre-production and production processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the entire filmmaking process, from concept to final production.
• Interest in contributing to the growth of a production company and eventually leading a team.
• Proactive mindset and ability to take initiative in a dynamic work environment.
