Job Summary:Mecca Studio is seeking a talented and experienced Video Editor with a proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in video editing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to transform raw footage into polished, engaging visual narratives. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creating impactful video content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit video footage using DaVinci Resolve or Premiere to create compelling and cohesive stories that align with project objectives and creative direction.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality results.
  • Utilize DaVinci Resolve for color correction, sound design, and adding special effects to enhance the visual storytelling.
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final product.
  • Provide creative input during the shooting/scripting process based on an understanding of editing requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized digital file system for all video assets and projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in video editing technology and techniques.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for video content.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Video Editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is a must.
  • Excellent understanding of timing, motivation, continuity, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Creative mindset and willingness to experiment.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

Salary: $15.50-$25.25 per hour
