As a Junior Video Editor, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Duties: Master the Linus Media Group workflow by collaborating alongside senior editors, working on our edits, sponsor spots, and receiving valuable training and feedback. Create and edit videos featured across our various channels, from in-depth tech reviews to exciting product launches, with guidance from experienced editors. Utilize raw footage and video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition to craft engaging and informative content. Perform color correction/grading and enhance footage and audio during the editing process. Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while upholding quality standards. Collaborate with writers and stakeholders to ensure that video content aligns with each channel’s unique style and narrative. Elevate videos by incorporating graphics, animations, and other elements to enhance visual appeal while preserving the company’s identity. Log footage to help streamline our editing process. Prepare captions for videos, ensuring our content is accessible for everyone. Requirements: A strong portfolio that includes narrative video content, featuring either a dialogue or monologue. Examples of colour correction/grading, compositing, or motion graphics should include a before-and-after comparison. A strong portfolio can make up for limited/no on the job experience/education. Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Film and Video Production, Media Arts, or Multimedia Production and/or at least one year of on-the-job experience. Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects. Must be able to think independently and quickly. Great problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. A positive attitude that aligns with our dynamic and creative work environment. Ability to work with a team or independently. Strong communication skills. Adobe Audition skills are an asset. Compensation: For this position the typical hiring salary range falls between CAD$55,000 and $64,000 per year. The base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience.
