**Opportunity** Abt Associates seeks a qualified Indigenous Peoples, Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (IP-GESI) Director for the expected eight-year USAID-funded Green Recovery Investment Platform (GRIP). GRIP aims to mobilize increased private sector financing for climate mitigation and adaptation interventions that lead to system changes and long-lasting impacts through three objectives: 1) Develop and scale effective partnerships and solutions to achieve transformational change, 2) Foster an inclusive enabling environment to build shared vision and accelerate collective action, and 3) Advance learning and development community capacity to mobilize catalytic private sector partnerships. GRIP’s interventions will be inclusive of local marginalized and vulnerable community groups, including Indigenous Populations, women, and youth, and further a green COVID-19 recovery. The U.S.-based IP-GESI Director will serve as the overall IP-GESI lead for the project and will ensure the integration of GESI and IP-focused interventions, considerations, and activities across GRIP’s three objectives and the implementation of the investment platform. The IP-GESI Director will contribute to the project’s work plan development, indicator selection and monitoring of IP-GESI focused results, and the project’s development and learning agenda. The IP-GESI Director will report to the DCOP of Climate Financing. The position is anticipated to be full-time for the eight-year duration and is intended to be based in Rockville, Maryland with the option for flexible telecommuting. The position is contingent upon the activity’s award and USAID approval. The tentative start date is August 2022. **Key Roles and Responsibilities** + Contribute to defining the project’s overall technical approach, drafting annual work plans, and implementing an integrated set of activities to achieve project goals in a way that will expand economic opportunities or provide targeted services to the benefit of women, youth, and other marginalized populations. + Coordinate with the DCOP of Climate Financing, and the Investment Platform’s Portfolio Directors to tailor project activities to enhance the involvement of women, youth, and other marginalized populations. + Collaborate with the project’s M&E staff to propose indicators and collect and analyze data for monitoring, learning, and reporting. + Ensure that the activities and results are implemented in a timely manner within the approved budget. + Promote the importance of IP-GESI activities and considerations to the project team, and among partners and stakeholders. + Provide and design IP-GESI trainings for project staff, partners, stakeholders and target beneficiaries as needed. **Preferred Qualifications** + Advanced degree in gender and youth development studies, finance, business administration, environmental science, or similar fields. + At least 12 years of professional experience in indigenous populations, gender or youth development, climate financing, clean energy, adaptation and resilience, or nature-based solutions required. + Experience identifying opportunities and barriers related to expanding incomes or economic opportunities for women, youth, and other marginalized populations + Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and independently + Strong analytical and interpersonal skills + Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues from a diverse set of partners in both public and private sectors. + Proven written and oral presentation skills in English. **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor’s Degree + Fifteen years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or PhD + Ten years of relevant experience Abt Associates is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workforce.
