Video Production Specialist

The Video Production Specialist supports agency efforts to produce high-quality video products for nonprofit, philanthropic, and government clients. You will help “connect the dots” internally and externally by communicating with team members and clients to support the production of excellent end products in a fast-moving, rapidly changing environment.

You will work closely with project managers across several teams to support excellent creative concept development, pre-production, principal production, and post-production work.

Essential Job Duties

Learning (15%)
•Participate in professional development and learning activities to continuously improve leadership, management, project management, and writing skills
•Read and reflect on agency readings; connect readings to short- and long-term goals for team and agency
•Participate in agency team meetings, professional development check-ins, and other internal meetings, as needed
•Maintaining high-level of organization for video files and materials

Video Production and Project Management Support (85%)
•Assist with the design, development, production, recording, and editing of video projects from concept to completion
•Work with project management team and videographers to create production budgets and schedules
•Assist with pitching and new business development for video production projects
•Assist with storyboard development, drafting interview questions, location scouting, and talent identification
•Conduct pre-production and principal production interviews with subjects
•Prepare background film/b-roll and identify stock footage for video projects
•Design, transport, set up, and operate production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions
•Lead quality control for video and motion graphic design projects
•Assist with creative concept development for motion graphic designs, including intros, outros, lower thirds, and infographics
•Lead agency post-production, including editing videos in Adobe Premiere, conceptualizing motion graphic designs, and supporting the finalization of motion graphic designs in Adobe After Effects
•Add closed captioning, graphics, or other on-screen text into a video, as needed and requested
•Assist with planning and production of live-streamed virtual events

Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, film, graphic design, English, marketing, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Technical knowledge and understanding of video production and website development
•Experience using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
•Experience editing websites built on WordPress
•Project management and organization skills
•Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
•Ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
•Intrinsically motivated self-starter, team player, critical thinker, and effective communicator
•A healthy dose of curiosity

Compensation commensurate with experience.
