Seeking Hair and Makeup Artist for ‘Black Girl in Paris’ Feature Film

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Hair and Makeup Artist for the upcoming feature film ‘Black Girl in Paris’. This film, set in 1986 Paris, tells the story of Eden, a young Black woman from Alabama who moves to Paris to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. As the Hair and Makeup Artist, your role will be essential in bringing the characters to life and capturing the authentic look and feel of the 1980s.

Responsibilities:
– Work closely with the director, cast, and production team to understand the vision and requirements for each character’s hair and makeup.
– Collaborate with the costume department to ensure that the hair and makeup align with the overall aesthetic and time period of the film.
– Create and apply makeup looks that enhance the actors’ features and portray their characters effectively.
– Style and manage the hair of the actors, ensuring it reflects the style and trends of the 1980s.
– Stay up to date with current hair and makeup techniques, trends, and products to achieve the desired look for each character.
– Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards while working with actors and their personal hair and makeup items.
– Build good relationships with the actors, providing professional and friendly hair and makeup services on set.

Requirements:
– Proven experience as a Hair and Makeup Artist in the film industry.
– Strong knowledge of hair and makeup techniques and trends, particularly from the 1980s.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the director, cast, and production team.
– Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced film production environment.
– Ability to stay organized and manage multiple actors’ hair and makeup requirements.
– Flexibility to adapt and make modifications to hair and makeup looks based on the director’s feedback.
