A commissioned short film (dark comedy-horror, ~10 minutes) is seeking non-union cast and crew for a two-day shoot in Stratford, Ontario between September 5–8, 2025. The project will screen at the Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival in Toronto this October. Casting includes one male actor (domineering, antagonist role) and one female actor (slight build, character arc from fearful to defiant). Crew positions open for DP, camera operator, sound, lighting, and a production assistant. Paid opportunity with honorarium, meals, accommodations, and transportation provided. An editor is also needed for post-production work September 11–22.

CAST & CREW CALL – NON-UNION – PAID – STRATFORD, ONTARIO (DATE TBD; TWO CONSECUTIVE DATES SEPT. 5-8) – GUARANTEED FESTIVAL SCREENING

Hello all! I am a writer-director-producer who has been commissioned to create a short film for the upcoming Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival happening this October in Toronto. I’m currently putting together the cast and crew for this production, which is a short narrative film (approx. 10 minutes) in the dark comedy-horror genre.

Logline: A young woman haunted by the personified manifestation of her eating disorder learns how to conquer it in the most defiant way possible: by eating.

Cast:

· 1 Male actor (flexible in terms of physical features; character is domineering and frightening – the ‘bad guy’)

· 1 Female actor (flexible in terms of physical features, though should have a slight build given the subject matter – fearful initially but becomes courageous and defiant)

Crew:

· Director of Photography

· Camera Operator

· Location sound

· Lighting design + Location lighting

· Production assistant

This is a paid opportunity, with transportation to and from Stratford, accommodations, and meals covered on top of the honorarium and film credit.

***We are also currently looking to hire an editor for post-production work. Editing to take place September 11th-22nd. Also fully compensated.
