CASTING CALL – MOVE IN | TORONTO FILM SHORT | NON-UNION
Title: MOVE IN
Genre: Drama, with some elements of magical realism
Storyline: Focusing on a teen dancer, this short will be set in a dance studio and will deal with identity, sisterhood and dealing with trauma. This is written and will be directed by a woman of color writer/director who has had several credits working on Sony narrative features and multiple shorts of her own.

Derek: 30s. Open to all races/ethnicities. Head contemporary dance teacher. There’s a warmth to Derek, who genuinely cares about his students and puts all of his energy into dance. He takes his job seriously and has been an imperative part of the dance studio’s success for the past 5 years. At his core, Derek is extremely passionate about dance and has helped launch many artistic careers for his students.

Toronto & GTA. Shoots August 25, 26, and 27, 2023. Rehearsals TBA.
Rate and Union
Non-paid. Non-union. Food provided. Transportation will not be reimbursed. A copy of the film will be provided for your reel.
