CASTING CALL FOR FEATURE FILM!
Dare to Dreams Productions is casting for the feature film “Diamonds in the Rough”. This film is the screenplay adaption of the popular book of the same title, written by Baltimore native, Tyeisha Downer. It follows Ambiance, a beautiful, confident and sensual woman, who befriends Ruby, a young waitress who has no friends, low self esteem and is struggling to find her place in this world. Ruby believes she’s finally found a true friend, but unbeknownst to her, Ambiance is a self serving opportunist with a deep secret.

AMBIANCE: African American woman, 25 – 35 y/o, She’s very beautiful and presents herself as a classy woman; however she is an arrogant opportunist with a deep secret. She has little regard for other people’s feelings, except for her true love, Winston.

RUBY: African American woman, 25 – 35 y/o. She is a financially strapped waitress, with low self esteem and no friends. She’s facing adversity in every aspect of life, but Cory, her close “friend”, sees the best in her.

WINSTON: 30 – 45 y/o African American man, athletic build. Ambiance’s lover; a financially successful, very smooth and debonair man.

CORY: 25 – 35 y/o African American man, a little quirky but cute in his own way. He continuously displays his love for Ruby and wants the best for her.

MR. JONES: ANY Ethnicity 35 – 50 y/o African American man. Ruby’s cheap, sleazy boss.

LANDLORD: ANY Ethnicity, 35 – 50 y/o Woman or Man. A sneaky and conniving slum lord actually. Tries to take advantage of Ruby for rent money.

WHERE: Baltimore, MD

WHEN: Tentatively Filming 2nd and 3rd week of August.
