At KING 5 we Stand for Truth. We are looking for a Part-Time Video Editor to help with a special weekly sports show. The initial assignment will last three months. Qualified candidates must be ready and able to create high quality content to meet sports deadlines. This is a temporary, union represented position. Responsibilities: In This Role, You Will: Edit a variety of video elements including voice-overs, SOTS, packages, graphics and teases Collaborate with KING 5’s award-winning team of photojournalists and sports journalists to create content for all platforms Operate non-linear edit systems, experience with Edius and Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects & Photoshop) is a plus Display a professional demeanor and work well/as a team player with news and sports staff Multi-task, handling editing assignments and capturing feeds and FTP material, while constantly monitoring quality control editing to scripts and producer notes Ability to create/edit material for on-air broadcast show and web, while meeting deadlines Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to complete editing weekly show Uphold personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving and a strong work ethic Job Requirements Requirements 1-3 years previous experience video editing, knowledge of EDIUS preferred Strong writing skills, both for digital and broadcast platforms Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field Fluency in a second language is a plus There’s one more, very important thing.
