The Opportunity The Memphis Grizzlies is seeking a part-time Camera Operator (CO) to support technical operations, such as broadcast/media productions, live games, concerts and other live events, or during recorded events. The CO should be highly motivated, skilled, proactive, and a dedicated production crew member for the broadcast team. In This Role You Will * Set up and operate Broadcast Video cameras in “hard” or ENG type configuration; * Work with live director/technical director to provide pattern coverage of sporting events, replay footage, as well as in arena entertainment; * Communicate using terminology and video shot compositions for creatively framing and capturing action; * Work with engineering & technical staff to troubleshoot as needed; * Capture quality footage working with an operating camera in a tethered environment; * Other duties as assigned. The Experience You Will Bring * Completed high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). * Completed two (2) years’ or more of college degree or equivalent professional experience as Camera Operator. * At least one year of experience providing video coverage of collegiate and professional sports in a live “in arena” or broadcast environment. * Ability to perform in a fast high-pressure environment and respond quickly to directions. * Ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. * Excellent communication skills. * Strong planning and organization skills. * Ability to multitask and follow strict guidelines. * Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and the Internet. * Must be available to work during sporting events/live entertainment during early evenings and weekends. Nice to Have: * Completed a four-year college degree in Radio Television/Film Production, Multimedia, Communication and or Cinematography. * Three (3) years’ operating video camera in live remote sports, in arena or broadcast ENG environment. * Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
