Seeking a media producer to support the Joint Staff Media Brance in creating video and other audio-visual products for the Collective Joint Training (CJT) to enhance the operational effectiveness of the current and future joint force. The incumbent will perform duties throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle in coordination with supported military customers and CJT leads. Incumbent responsibilities include but not limited to: • Serve as a functional expert for video and multi-media production in support of military exercise and mission rehearsal requirements • Produce, direct, record and edit simulated news broadcasts, documentaries, training videos, and social media products • Plan and coordinate technical support requirements for video production, interviews, and exercise press conferences • Coordinate production schedules, equipment, crews, and talent • Write video scripts • Research video libraries and obtain relevant B-roll for video productions • Edit raw footage of videotaped scenes • Ensure timely completion of productions to meet tight project deadlines • Assist with shipment schedules and studio support requirements • Attend exercise planning conferences, In-Progress Reviews, and coordinate meetings as required • Serve as functional cell member during execution of joint training events around the world • Oversee completion of Media Branch contract deliverables • High School Diploma • Ability to manage multi-dimensional projects • Ten years’ experience in TV news, military, or commercial video production • Five years’ experience in non-linear video editing • Proficient in use of video production equipment • Working knowledge of graphics software and word processing software • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Must be able to travel unassisted to continental US and foreign locations up to 25% of the time • Must be able to move and operate personal computer and related professional equipment • Must possess an interim or active US DoD Secret security clearance • Must possess a valid US Passport • Must be able to work on site in Suffolk, Virginia PREFERRED Qualifications: • Bachelors’ or higher degree • Five years’ experience with AVID or Adobe Premier video editing software • Working knowledge of website design and maintenance • Experience producing media for military training exercises • Experience working with senior military and government personnel Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled Recommended Skills Adobe Premiere Pro Avid Media Composer Communication Filmmaking Graphics Software Maintenance
