Volunteer Student Casting Call in LA

(approximately) this August about a young man faced with homelessness in Los Angeles and we’re looking for (mostly) cast and (a few) crew. We can’t offer pay, but we can offer meal/copy/credit.
The roles we need to fill are:

Ben (Male 20s) [Lead]
Stranded in the streets of Los Angeles, Ben is a troubled young man living out of his car. He maintains a very strict routine to keep up appearances. Although he tries his best to keep people at arm’s length, it all comes crashing down when someone steals his radio. Ben is slim, of middling height with bluish-grey eyes and a stern, but youthful face.

Gael (Male, 20s) [Co-Lead]
Gael is an affable young Ecuadorian* man who works with Ben in their coffee shop. After witnessing the theft, Gael is somewhat involuntarily dragged on a search through the roughness and grime of LA’s night scene to find his friend’s radio. Gael is a loyal friend to Ben and operates as a best friend and comedic relief in this film. Gael is stocky, heavy-built with hazel eyes and a charming face.
*Written as Latino or Ecuadorian, but open to other actors of color for the role

Homeless H. (Male, 20s-30s) [Supporting]

Homeless H. is the man who stole Ben’s radio. In many ways he is a mirror of what could have happened if Ben’s life had gotten even worse.

Sherry (Female, 30s-60s) [Supporting]
A kind, portly woman who works at a local homeless shelter. She has helped Ben in the past when he used to sleep there. Her role is sweet and minor-ly comedic.

Officer Tate (Male, 20s-40s) [Supporting]
Officer Tate is a domineering, but kind Officer who catches Ben living out of his car in the beginning of the film. The role is brief, but heavily featured in the first scene.
