Inspired by a true story, Lily Trevino is a people-pleasing young caretaker who has been abandoned by both her parents – her mother when she was three and her narcissistic father in her twenties. Despite her constant role as a caretaker, Lily yearns for a familial connection that has always been missing from her life. Bob Trevino, on the other hand, works tirelessly at a construction company to support his wife Jeanie’s scrapbooking hobby, putting her needs before his own. However, he too feels a deep longing for connection and meaning in his life. Their paths unexpectedly cross on Facebook when Lily befriends a grieving, childless man with the same name as her father. As their friendship blossoms, Bob’s small acts of kindness become a source of healing for both of them. Through their relationship, they both learn that they are deserving of an extraordinary love that can be found in small acts of kindness.
