Job Summary The Associate Editor/Videographer is an extremely important member of the content production department within DCX at Spectrum Brands. The Associate Editor/Videographer will lead and assist edits on video and motion graphics projects, helping to ingest and organize footage + assets, edit sequences, and bring animations to life. This position will not only focus on post-production but be active on set, creating the many different types of video projects we do here at Spectrum Brands—from lifestyle and product videos to social and instructional pieces. On any given day, the Associate Editor/Videographer might be editing a sequence, prepping for shoots, operating the camera, or lighting a scene. You will work across all brands in the Global Pet Care and Home & Garden divisions. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Post-Production(75%) Lead or assist the edit on video/motion graphics projects. Utilize technical knowledge in post-production workflows from ingesting all the way to finalizing sound mix and color grade. Design and create motion graphics or work with the lead Motion Graphics Artist directly to implement motion graphics sequences. Proficient in Adobe Suite with a focus on Premiere and After Effects. Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve for color grading. Ability to optimize assets for multiple digital devices (web, desktop, mobile). Collaborative – able to work well alongside creative team members to find solutions. Extremely organized – will be owning the filing of new assets on the servers and archiving completed projects Production (25%) Assists in creation of Creative Treatment/visual style for productions. Active in pre-production from helping draft storyboards and shot lists to prepping gear. Comfortable in a variety of positions on set (camera operating, gripping, DIT, etc.). Passion for learning on set Education and Experience Profile 1-3 years of video production experience (preferably at an agency, production co., or CPG brand) Experience with video, audio, animation, and post-production software. Required Skills A demonstrable passion for storytelling through video and animation Good understanding of graphic design principles, color theory, layout, and typography. Ability to be innovative, creative, and think outside of the box. Ability to stay up to date on current and emerging digital marketing and technology trends. Excellent time-management skills, able to balance multiple projects at a time. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and Media Encoder Knowledge of various video file formats – including resolution, aspect ratio, and encoding standards for broadcast, social and web. A passion for finding creative solutions that add value to video productions and end deliverables. Growth mindset and a willingness to learn. Bonus points for film geeks, advertising/marketing nerds, and TV junkies. Must submit a reel and/or examples of work to be considered.
