Short Film August 5th: Need Actor – Gig

Production Description: 

Casting for a flashback sequence in a short Psychological Thriller. Young actors needed to portray child versions of the characters from the main storyline of the film (already shot). Adult actors needed to portray said characters’ parents.

While a lack of training should not deter you from submitting, any experience in stage combat/fight choreography will be appreciated and will prove useful in filming.

Though only comprising a small fraction of the film’s runtime, the flashback sequence will be interwoven throughout the main film and will serve as the key to understanding our characters’ motivations, as well as the story as a whole. The sequence will be shot over the course of one day in a single location August 5. The sequence will feature no scripted dialogue, instead relying heavily on strong and clear physical expression from the actors, as well as natural, improvised actions & reactions.

Potential Triggers: Violence, Intense Language

BECK – Supporting Role, Male, Black/African Descent, 15-20. 

Beck is a survivor, in possibly the ugliest sense of the word. A victim of abuse who refuses to be helpless any longer, Beck sets down a path that, though dark, will ensure that he remains in control of his own life. Though Young Beck is a non-speaking role, his actions and expressions will be key to understanding the larger story at play.
