**VOLUNTEER COSTUME DESIGNER **
Hi everyone! My name is Oriana. I’m directing a dance short film shooting at the end of July, and I’m looking for a volunteer costume designer to help us out during the pre and production phases
More info about the project:
– A 6 minute short film on the coming of age and slight sci-fi dystopian society genre-world
– Narrative for the first quarter of the film and then it turns into a story told through movement and choreography
– It’s a passion project. We aren’t for seeing any revenues for this project. All the costs for materials will be paid for
– The film is premiering at the Innovate Dance Showcase in September 2023 at the Vancouver Playhouse and we’ll also be entering other film festivals around the world
– Pre production starts next week (June 12), and we will be shooting on July 29 and July 30 (Vancouver and Abbotsford respectively)
More info about the job:
– Medium sized crew. Everyone is volunteering but you’ll be getting IMDb credits and meals on set
– You’d be working under the Production Designer and Director’s supervision
– It’d be would be best suited for a student looking to get experience working in a mini film production or anybody that wants to add more to their portfolio within the genres described above
– The costume plays a big part on the storyline especially for the last scene. Will need 3 pieces of costume pretty much made from scratch. One of them is on the more complex side,but it isn’t anything too, too elaborate. There’s definitely room for creativity on how to achieve the end result and we are open to ideas to add your own flair
– If available, would also love to have the same person working as part of the styling and wardrobe team
– If chosen to be a stylist, this person would also need to be on set for both shoot days as well as one of our dance rehearsals to test our costumes
– A full film pitch can be sent if request to check if the project specs align with what you are looking for
