Matthew Carlton is an award-winning composer for film, TV, video games, and concert music. His most recent projects include feature film "Death of a Fool" (available on Amazon Prime) and short film "Roses Are Blind," which won awards for Best Score at the 2019 Silver State Film Festival and Shore to Shore Film Festival. He also wrote music for the short film "Distance," debuting at the 2015 Miami International Film Festival.
Having a wide and eclectic taste, some major influences on Mr. Carlton's music include folk and non-Western music, the American classical tradition, minimalism, and electronic music.
He holds both a Bachelor's and Master's of Music in Composition degree from Lynn University in Boca Raton, the university's first alumnus to have done so, as well as a minor in Film Production. As winner of Lynn University's 2018 Composition Competition, the Lynn Philharmonia premiered Mr. Carlton’s orchestral work "Binarii" during their 2018 - 2019 season. He also scored the documentary "A Presidential Debate: Backstage Pass" for Lynn University’s Communications Department.
