Job Description Summary

Sporting Kansas City seeks a Video Production Seasonal Assistant to assist the club’s in-house video production team with visual storytelling and content on a wide variety of media projects including the MLS/Apple partnership, videoboard features, club advertising, sponsorship, community and special events, footage management and more.

Reporting to the Senior Producer, Video Content, this individual will work closely with others in the Creative, Content and Brand team(s) to execute the content vision in alignment with brand strategy and marketing goals.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Create engaging video content to promote, market and cover the organization
• Produce compelling video content on tight turnarounds
• Shoot and edit matchday highlights and atmosphere
• Shoot and edit training highlights
• Shoot weekly media scrums and press conferences and ensure proper distribution and archival
• Shoot and edit Community impact events
• Shoot and edit partnership events and obligations
• Ingest and log matchday and training footage
• Assist with and/or shoot and set up studio with lighting/audio equipment for studio production shoots
• Assist on longform feature shoots and edits as needed.
• Produce and edit podcast content as needed.
• Edit motivational or tactical video for the team as assigned.
• Create and edit video content across the Club for online, social media, stadium videoboard, on-demand, and advertising – work with leadership and stakeholders from every department to guide storytelling and content approaches in alignment with the Sporting creative vision
• Create content and video concepts in accordance with our key moments, brand campaigns, and partnership obligations. Work with the Senior Producer and Production Manager to prioritize these concepts by highest impact against our club and departmental goals
• Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Matchday Responsibilities

• Shooting, production, and editing video content
• Fill in on select Sporting KC away matches as needed

Skills and Experience

• 1-2 years of video production experience including, but not limited to, camera operation, audio, editing, writing, set lighting and design.
• Strong video editing skills in multiple styles.
• Studio Production environment experience (lighting, cameras, audio)
• Motion graphics and graphic design experience a plus
• Proven ability to work within brand guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to produce broadcast-style sports and feature stories with a quick turnaround.
• Strong knowledge and experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
• Spanish fluency a plus, but not required
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as Sporting matches home and away
• Ability to provide a link to a reel or previous work required.
