Description Position at DNEG Working closely with our Head of Animation, Animation Supervisors and fellow Animators, you will be responsible for creating believable animation with convincing performances and motion. You will have the ability to complete digi-double, creature, character or rigid body animation. Delivering work to strict deadlines, you will be aware of project schedules and work hard to achieve these goals, and produce content within the framework of the DNEG pipeline.Junior AnimatorMust haveAt least 1 years of CG experience, within live-action high-end VFX feature films or TVAbility to perform visual and analytical problem-solving in 3-dimensional space, including the ability to accurately interpret 3D layouts and analyze 3D formThorough knowledge of MayaExperienced animating realistic, physical movements over character and stylized performance piecesAbility to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasksAbility to animate realistic movementsShowreel showcasing high-end VFX animation work with an outstanding creature or animation work, weight, detail work, and reference study, as well as 4 legged creature work, and timings and animation that is not just character workMid AnimatorMust have3+ years CG animation experience within live-action Creature and VFX feature films, or high-end TV featuring creatures and 4-legged workAbility to perform visual and analytical problem-solving in 3-dimensional space, including the ability to accurately interpret 3D layouts and analyze 3D formAbility to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasksThorough knowledge of MayaShowreel showcasing exceptional, highly detailed, high-end live action VFX animation work including creatures and detailed high level performance showing instances of flying, bipedal, vehicle animation and use of motion captureSenior AnimatorMust have5+ years CG animation experience within high end live action VFX feature filmsAbility to perform visual and analytical problem solving in 3-dimensional space, including the ability to accurately interpret 3D layouts and analyse 3D formThorough knowledge of MayaProven experience trouble shooting and predicting potential problems with assigned tasksAbility to support the Leads and SupervisorsExperience mentoring junior artistsProven experience pro-actively in finding creative solutions within the bounds of the shotsAbility to contribute to the pipeline and team bringing improvements and over-arching methodologies to better the departmentShowreel showcasing a variety of exceptional, highly detailed, high-end live action VFX animation work including hero creatures, hero digi-doubles and detailed high level performance showing instances of flying, bipedal, vehicle and use of motion captureNice to haveTool development using Python or MELAbout youWell versed in the principles of animationAbility to work well in a team environmentAn eye for detail and a desire for animationOpen, communicative and a great willingness to learn, and work in a teamWill have to have a can-do personality, positive, technically astute and have the knowledge that you are starting at entry level About UsWe are DNEG, one of the world’s leading VFX and animation studios for the creation of award-winning feature film, television and multiplatform content.
