Job Position(s): VFX Producer - Senior - Permanent role
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Rodeo FX is hiring a Senior VFX Producer to join their studio in Montreal, QC. This role sits at the centre of the VFX pipeline, owning the budget and schedule across multiple live-action projects from bid through delivery. It suits an experienced producer who has managed complex VFX productions end-to-end and knows how to hold a project together when clients change their minds mid-show.

About the Role

The Senior VFX Producer works across the full lifecycle of each project, partnering with VFX Supervisors and department heads to move shots through the pipeline on time and on budget. Day-to-day, this means tracking schedules in Shotgun, fielding client calls, forecasting overages before they become problems, and making sure the right artists are assigned to the right work. This is a permanent, full-time position at one of the more established VFX studios operating in the Montreal market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VFX Supervisor and Business Development to assess costs and prepare bids for incoming feature film and episodic television projects.
  • Maintain Shotgun as the live record of project status, tracking schedule and budget against the original quote throughout the production run.
  • Manage client communication directly, providing shot updates, pricing out change requests, and keeping the working relationship productive under deadline pressure.
  • Assign key talent across departments, confirming the skill mix required for each project and flagging additional resource needs as the work evolves.
  • Initiate and approve overtime, prepare budget reports, and lead mid-production and post-mortem reviews to capture lessons for the next show.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level production team members, conduct performance reviews, and work with department managers on promotions and any personnel issues.

What You Bring

  • Several years of producing experience in a VFX studio environment, with credits across feature film or high-end episodic television productions.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Shotgun as a production tracking tool, not just as a review platform.
  • A track record of managing multi-department VFX productions from bid to final delivery, including direct client-facing responsibilities.
  • Strong budget forecasting skills and comfort building and owning a project plan across a long production cycle.
  • Experience mentoring production staff and contributing to team development at the department level.

Why This Role

Rodeo FX has built a consistent reputation in the VFX industry working across major studio features and streaming series, with operations in Montreal, Quebec City, Los Angeles, and Paris. This Senior VFX Producer position offers genuine ownership over a slate of projects and real influence on how the production department operates and improves. For a producer who wants scope and stability at a studio with a serious production slate, this is a role worth looking at closely.
